Metricool observes more views and lower average duration in its YouTube 2026 study , published July 28 and covering 799,718 videos from 71,177 accounts. The preview gives neither magnitudes, geographical distribution nor exact collection dates. The combination warrants examining format and audience before interpreting lost interest.

Introductions and integration demonstrations perform different jobs. The first can explain a company’s problem; the second whether its product fits a buyer’s systems. Common averages do not establish which answer is missing. Budgets preserve the question justifying video production and maintenance.

YouTube presence does not determine explanation length

GWI and DataReportal, recorded by Statista, report monthly YouTube use at 49.3% among Spanish internet users aged 16–64 in Q3 2025, compared with Instagram at 73.5% and TikTok at 50.5%. This is whole-platform context rather than demonstration reach, viewing duration or Metricool’s format mix.

Length follows necessary information rather than that percentage. Shortening configuration can remove the condition needed to assess compatibility. Corporate-history minutes can delay answers without improving them. Genuine questions and their position in scripts offer a more specific criterion than pursuing averages.

Perceived format effectiveness does not prescribe duration

Ipsos and LinkedIn asked 2,001 B2B leaders in March 2024 which formats were considered most effective. Statista records video at 16%, thought-leadership blog posts/articles at 14% and case studies at 14%. This is format assessment rather than a YouTube experiment or measurement of viewer learning.

One format can demonstrate conditions, explain problems or document cases. General assessments do not replace evidence that pieces answer the uncertainty funding them. On mixed channels, audience changes and Shorts proportions can shift averages without changing demonstrations’ useful work.

YouTube’s current impression and watch-time documentation requires thumbnails visible more than one second and at least 50% for registered impressions. External websites and apps, embeds and email are excluded. Explanations distributed by sales need not follow YouTube’s thumbnail funnel.

Views, estimated unique viewers and hours describe different objects. Current help counts starts across formats; historical records retain their own definitions and changes. Today’s rule is not silently applied to every older export, and typical averages are not reconstructed without knowing units and weighting.

Explanation costs begin before recording and persist afterward

Canto and Ascend2’s November 2025 study recorded by Statista reports team coordination or workflows as a challenge for 34%, brand consistency for 31% and finding or accessing assets for 30%. Its US and UK sample is predominantly physical-product businesses, rather than measurement of Metricool or Spanish-company video costs.

Demonstrations can require product time, scripts, validation and updates as interfaces change. Recordings may keep attracting views while teaching obsolete instructions. Shown versions and currency ownership belong in editorial records; replaying files does not establish correct answers.

Channel growth retains its denominator

Metricool’s preview says 11% of accounts below 10,000 subscribers grew between 2025 and 2026, without giving subgroup base or developing its exact definition there. This is neither profitable-customer acquisition probability nor a count of successful Spanish businesses. Public documents leave that dimension unresolved.

Own assessment separates format, topic, source, observation window and paid support. Older recordings had more distribution opportunities than new releases. Departures after answers can reflect resolved uncertainty, unlike earlier departures; curves establish neither interpretation without content and subsequent questions.

Continuation retains context through relevant information or defined enquiries. Visits differ from video-caused sales. Commercial records validate operations with appropriate permissions, without inferring identity or intent from anonymous audiences or adding information unrelated to requests.

Comparisons preserve uncertainty and criteria beforehand: reaching relevant segments, understanding conditions or specifying enquiries better. Unsuccessful variants and external circumstances remain recorded rather than selecting favorable peaks after many changes. Local observations do not gain causality from another panel’s size.

Further investment belongs to explanations buyers still need. Shortening everything erases the distinction between introducing offers and verifying fit. Questions, evidence, continuation and cost can preserve useful pieces despite falling channel averages, while removing minutes adding no information even if they accumulate views.
