TGM Research offers individual charts from $6.99 through StatBox. Its relaunch page , published August 14 and updated August 17, 2026, describes access to study pieces across more than 40 markets. The release body is dated August 12. Purchasing a chart separates evidence from a complete report without funding a new observation.
The commercial unit changes while the original question remains. Buyers can obtain references without committing to fieldwork. Expansion into custom research begins where decisions need a population, period or variable the catalog did not observe.
More data does not guarantee comparable evidence
Nielsen’s 2025 marketing study recorded by Statista reports incomparable data and excessive data at 19% each, and insufficient data at 17%. These are first or second obstacles selected when demonstrating return. The base includes 1,400 brand professionals across four regions with annual marketing budgets of at least $1 million, rather than identified StatBox buyers.

Neither exclusive categories nor all recognized problems. IAB UK hosts the report rather than defining British geography. Neither TGM demand, downloads nor commissioning intent.

A chart purchased today retains its fieldwork date, audience and question. It can support limited decisions when those fit without becoming a current measure of the buyer’s customers. Another percentage can add volume without resolving the definition mismatch preventing comparison of the first.
The data record is therefore part of the product: unit, question base, selection and response conditions make the figure interpretable. Preference and action studies do not form a time series because both use percentages. Incomplete records stay incomplete rather than being reconstructed from newer editions.
Quality promises also require a bounded question
Ascend2 asked 374 marketing professionals in January 2023 in which areas they saw the greatest benefits of improving data quality. Statista’s historical series records customer experience at 61%, lead generation at 35% and overall decisions at 33%. These are that sample’s professional judgments, rather than measured improvements or TGM outcomes.

The comparison demonstrates evidence boundaries rather than calculated supplier demand. Quality opinions can orient a commercial research question. Establishing changed customer experience requires its definition, population and relevant observations. That additional work defines the research boundary even when appealing topic charts already exist.
Producing new information creates another commitment
TGM’s public methodological answers to Esomar request audience, completed interviews, format and timing to assess feasibility, considering incidence, length, quotas and complexity. The company also describes preserving source composition across tracking waves. These are provider disclosures rather than independent audits of every study.
Less common audiences can require more contacts to obtain eligible responses. Short deadlines, long questionnaires and translations change necessary work. Commercial comparisons retain those conditions: existing-chart prices cannot automatically price another question or population.
| Evidence purchase | Decision it can serve | Commercial boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Chart from an existing study | Examine an observation already measured. | Audience, date and question need to fit the decision. |
| Custom research | Resolve an unanswered question. | Price the audience and fieldwork required. |
| Repeated measurements | Observe whether the same measure changes. | Maintain comparability across periods. |
Collapse notes
The table distinguishes editorial uses and research commitments without assigning sales, margins or acquisition results to TGM. Repeated measurement preserves conditions rather than adding dates to the same presentation. Changed sources or questions can produce differences unrelated to market change.
Further business is earned through missing knowledge
Downloads open relationships without establishing fieldwork intent. Commercial conversations can identify remaining uncertainty and its consequence for decisions. If a chart already answers the question, another study adds expense without necessary evidence; mismatched population or timing makes additional scope worth identifying and pricing.
Packaging, documenting and maintaining catalogs also consume work. Economics combine piece sales and later relationships, but the announcement publishes no transition rate to calculate them. StatBox earns value by showing known evidence and its boundary. Further studies are justified by open questions and the work needed to answer them.
