A physical purchase can leave a task unfinished: preparation, use, retaining information or resolving a question about the purchase. Digital access adds value by delivering that answer. Beginning with address collection can add an obligation without resolving the task that justified entry.

Transition needs a recognizable, lasting promise. Accessing instructions, asking for help and choosing future communications are different decisions. Purchase does not automatically combine them or transfer the buyer’s permission to another subsequent user.

The printed route can ease entry without establishing exposure

GWI, through Statista and DataReportal, records monthly QR scanning among 42.1% of Spanish internet users aged 16 to 64 in the second quarter of 2025. Monthly search-engine use reaches 87.4%. These are general access tools rather than packaging-reading, post-purchase-use or brand-invitation response rates.

The comparison supports explaining the route rather than assuming everybody has a camera, connection or willingness to use it. Material can include a readable address and intended assistance. Its promise matches the destination: general instructions do not begin with a promotional subscription unnecessary for displaying them.

The GOV.UK cross-channel guide calls for a coherent journey across needed channels, including paper, phone and face-to-face. Its setting is public services. Here it supports coherence and access rather than requiring every channel or establishing universal commercial effects.

Post-purchase usefulness remains without a collected contact

Public instructions can resolve a task without identifying the reader. Low registration does not establish failure when content fulfilled that function. Voluntary continuity subsequently offers another concrete benefit with understandable topic, channel and conditions; assistance, service registration and promotion retain distinct purposes.

Buyer and user can differ. Material explains whom it serves and preparation needed without requiring private buyer-data transfer. Continuity is built with the person choosing participation under that action’s conditions.

Added contact does not replace value or quality

EAE’s study published in February 2024, recorded by Statista, identifies value for money as the main loyalty factor for 56.7% of 1,000 Spanish participants aged 18 to 70. Quality receives 25.6%; product or service personalization 2.5%. The question records a stated factor rather than observed repeat-purchase rates.

Main stated factor rather than purchasing frequency, causality, willingness to supply data or consent. Personalization 2.5% does not mean the remainder rejects it; not combined with another population’s QR usage.

The chart places continuity within the product experience. More messages do not compensate for poor usefulness. Remembering a need does not authorize retaining every historical detail. Incentives retain scope, duration and limits, and one-off participation does not establish independent value in later contact.

The AEPD’s data-protection-by-default guidance describes minimizing amount, scope, retention and access for purposes defined during design. Purchase does not replace reviewing the purpose or conditions applying to subsequent communication. People retain a route for changing their choice.

Material still creates expectations after the campaign ends

A printed address can circulate for years. Operations knows distributed versions, destination ownership and information applying to acquired product versions. An expired advantage retains understandable conditions while necessary guidance remains available under applicable commitments.

Sales, distribution and support agree authorized promises and routes for product, return and communication questions. Handoff retains only authorized context. A changed distributor does not automatically remove an existing guide’s responsibility; another transaction does not reactivate withdrawn preferences.

Distribution, access, contact and repeat purchase retain separate denominators

Prepared materials are not delivered materials, and delivery does not establish individual reading. Known availability at physical locations is presented as such. Access uses a defined unit and window; voluntary participation concerns eligible visitors offered the option. Its ratio to distributed materials answers another question.

Repeat purchase needs a valid-purchase buyer cohort, another valid purchase within the window and cancellation treatment. Without legitimate reliable linking, the indicator stays unknown: visits and scans do not replace it. Buying after participation describes association rather than establishing the digital relationship’s added contribution.

Withdrawals, questions and complaints complete evaluation alongside the resolved task and maintenance cost. An invitation merits expansion when recognizable usefulness survives from physical location to subsequent answer. Its result is chosen, serviceable continuity rather than turning a transaction into unlimited permission or a visit into a recurring customer.
