Easypromos will stop offering its WordPress plugin on October 15, 2026, according to its September 18 notice. Promotions already embedded through the plugin will continue to work.
For a new embed from that date, the provider instructs organisers to copy Widget code from the Easypromos editor into a custom HTML block in WordPress. The change affects how the promotion is added to a page or post.
Separating campaign design from integration makes the inventory manageable. A page already displaying a promotion and a page planned for a future campaign do not require the same decision. Teams can record which exists, which remains pending and who can edit it. The announced change concerns the embedding mechanism; it does not justify automatically changing the terms, prizes, audiences or links of a campaign already working.
WordPress explains scale without counting affected customers
W3Techs reported WordPress on 40.1% of surveyed sites and 58.6% of sites with an identified content-management system, with an Oct. 12, 2026 reference. Its method covers more than 20 million relevant sites and excludes duplicates and pages without useful content. These are global technology measures, not Spanish websites or Easypromos-plugin installations. W3Techs figures and method .
The annual series compiled by Statista provides an earlier reference: on January 1, 2026, WordPress accounted for 60.2% of sites with a known CMS, compared with Shopify’s 7% and Wix’s 5.8%. This is the same kind of technology denominator at a different date. The chart measures neither Easypromos customers, its plugin installations nor promotional outcomes.

W3Techs technology detection; sites with a known CMS, not all sites or users. Its current methodology covers over 20 million relevant sites, but the January 1 historical base is not separately stated here. Selection does not cover the entire market; PrestaShop has no value in that Statista row and is not reported as zero. Does not identify plugin users.

The denominator explains why both percentages coexist. The second excludes sites whose content-management system is unknown; it is not a higher adoption rate within an identical population. Scale helps explain why a WordPress integration can matter to marketing teams, but cannot calculate how many promotions change process. Easypromos' notice publishes no plugin-user count. This revision preserves that unknown instead of converting a general technology share into affected customers or assuming the provider's audience follows the same distribution as websites across the world.
The connected domain determines where participation finishes
Easypromos' linked tutorial says to use a custom HTML block and connect a domain to the promotion to retain the whole experience inside WordPress. Without that configuration it describes opening participation outside the page, from the welcome screen or a link. This is supplier navigation documentation rather than a guarantee that every existing configuration behaves identically. Embedding tutorial .
That condition matters because the opening screen and completed participation are separate stages. A page can display the incentive and still move the user to another destination to continue. Commercial acceptance should establish the intended journey and communicate it to the people writing instructions. Participants need to know where the activity happens and recognise its end. This article assigns no automatic in-page continuity to the Widget when the supplier's own tutorial makes that behaviour conditional on domain configuration. The next campaign needs a clear expectation rather than an assumed experience.
Comparison should retain traffic source and device. The next campaign may target another audience, use a different prize or run during another period. If several conditions change with insertion, a conversion difference cannot be assigned entirely to the Widget. The account can describe an observed relationship and its limits. A causal decision needs a design compatible with those changes, which the product notice does not provide. Offering another publication method cannot replace that evidence or establish an improvement in acquisition quality across campaigns with different propositions.
Publication work needs its own cost account
Removing a plugin from future publication can remove an installation task, but pasting code and maintaining configuration also require work. Cost should include preparing the page, reviewing the destination and handling corrections. No time or maintenance comparison is published for the Easypromos transition. It is therefore presented neither as demonstrated savings nor a general risk to WordPress. Teams can describe changed responsibility and measure their effort without deducing it from a plugin's absence, or treating a shorter technical component list as an automatically lower total campaign cost.
Operational difficulty can matter alongside price in a buying conversation. In Amazon Business’s international 2024 survey compiled by Statista, 47% cited efficiency and operational complexity, compared with 21% citing costs and budgets. This is procurement context across industries, not a WordPress or Easypromos survey. For the announced change, the corresponding question is who prepares the destination and which work remains necessary, rather than a saving inferred from removing one component.

Continuity needs another person to be able to reproduce the next insertion. Knowledge held in one email or the publisher's session can make the next calendar depend on that person's availability again. Internal instructions based on current documentation can retain the approved process and owner. The article proposes no additional architecture or website rewrite. The commercial question is whether the known method remains available when staff change or another promotion is prepared. That operational outcome has value separately from conversion, provided it is actually observed rather than asserted as a benefit of the announcement.
October 15 changes preparation for the next promotion rather than ordering existing campaigns to close. For participation intended to remain entirely within WordPress, the tutorial adds a specific decision: configure the connected domain as well as inserting the Widget. If the chosen journey leads elsewhere, instructions need to recognise that transition. The withdrawal's commercial consequence is allocating this work before distributing the link. Approving a creative does not by itself resolve where a user will finish participating or who is responsible for preparing that destination.
