Syneos Health combines digital campaigns with patient-group networks to connect people with clinical trials, according to its participation and continuity offering . The first contact leaves an economic question open for the sponsor: what support will enable an eligible person to complete the intended journey.
The distinction matters when purchasing services. A campaign creates awareness and interested contacts. Eligibility and participation depend on the protocol, the person’s decisions and the sites’ work. Paying for reach without understanding that continuity can increase requests the team must still assess and support.
Stated willingness also differs from a completed journey. In October 2023, Research!America asked US adults about joining a trial recommended by their doctor: 34% said very likely and 45% somewhat likely. The scenario does not verify protocol requirements or attendance. Budgets still need to separate interest, assessment and delivery.

The app connects tasks advertising cannot resolve
On May 18, 2026, Syneos Health announced an award for PatientGO , its participant support app. The company presents it as a digital connection between patients, sites and support services. The award identifies an offering; it does not itself establish an improvement in retention or timelines.
The connection’s commercial value lies in reducing interruptions between functions. Study information arrives through one channel; questions about a visit require another team; assistance requires a specific response. A tool can keep the outstanding task visible, but the service still needs someone responsible for resolving it.
An app occupies a specific place within that work. CISCRP’s 2019 international survey, reported by Statista, recorded text messaging among 21% of former participants and smartphone apps among 15%. This is a historical reference for reported use. It cannot establish a PatientGO retention improvement or estimate its current adoption.

That changes what a sponsor compares in a proposal. A budget can include communication, contact assessment and support during the study. Those activities have different costs and owners. Presenting them as one audience-reach figure prevents a buyer from seeing where the campaign ends and the site’s workload begins.
The commercial agreement needs capacity along the journey
Syneos Health also publishes FSP 360 , a flexible functional services model retaining sponsor visibility and control. The connection between that capacity and digital activation provides a concrete commercial reading: expanding contacts requires establishing what additional work can be served and how it will be allocated.
This relationship does not attribute a trial’s medical outcome to an app or replace clinical decisions. Its subject is service delivery. A contact answered, an issue resolved and a visit completed according to the plan are different records; each describes part of the execution the sponsor purchases.
Subsequent experience adds a different measure. In the same historical survey, 14% described participation as somewhat disruptive to their routine and 5% as very disruptive. A burden assessment can indicate support needs, but it is neither dropout nor a medical outcome. The agreement therefore needs to specify which problems each team will handle.

Syneos Health’s growth can rest on an offer making that sequence visible before contracting. Buyers obtain a more precise comparison when they know which tasks are included, who responds and what capacity accompanies the next volume of contacts. The campaign opens the journey; sustainable continuity determines its commercial value.
