Docusign offers unlimited signatures through its web application while setting a separate allowance for certain automated sends. That boundary shapes how the promise of faster sales becomes spending that changes with usage.

The U.S. IAM pricing page combines electronic signature, workflows and AI-assisted agreement management. Standard and Professional advertise unlimited web-app sends. The allowance table separates that activity from sends through integrations, application programming interfaces and other automation routes. Buying more of the agreement process requires understanding how each document enters it.

One workflow can draw on two kinds of capacity

The criterion is how the send starts. A workflow launched through the web or mobile application that sends an agreement for signature belongs to that application's sends. In Standard and Professional, starting it through an integration or programming interface counts as an automation send. Bulk sends and forms that result in an agreement being sent for signature also consume that allowance, according to Docusign's definitions.

The distinction affects a concrete growth decision. A sales team can process agreements manually in the application. Connecting the same operation to the system holding its opportunities changes how the entitlement is consumed. Contract volume alone stops being sufficient to estimate capacity: the way sends are triggered matters too.

Annual Standard and Professional plans include 100 automation sends per user per year, pooled at account level. The three-user minimum provides 300 for that period. Standard displays $50 per user per month and a $1,800 annual commitment for the minimum; Professional displays $80 and $2,880. Additional taxes may apply, and the consulted page does not provide a general price for extending the allowance.

The table separates the variety of configurable processes from the permitted number of sends. Moving from three workflows to ten does not multiply that allowance. Monthly billing for the annual option also retains a twelve-month commitment. This comparison describes the public U.S. dollar storefront, not a Spanish quote or a negotiated enterprise offer.

The commercial opportunity continues after the form

The problem IAM sells help with starts before signature and continues afterward. In its Perceptyx account , Docusign describes sales requests arriving in a legal inbox and accumulating information in separate emails and messages. This is a supplier-published story without an independent sales-effect estimate that can be transferred to other businesses.

Connecting that work has economic value when it preserves opportunity information through review, approval and contract. A faster send can shorten a wait; contribution appears when that reduction helps complete a deal or releases capacity with a meaningful cost. Counting signatures without knowing which opportunity they represent leaves that relationship incomplete.

The TopRank Marketing and Ascend2 survey published by Statista supplies specific context. Among 797 senior B2B marketers surveyed in the U.S. and UK in July 2025, 34% cited limited visibility or attribution and 27% misalignment with sales over quality or follow-up. These are reported obstacles with multiple answers, not lost-contract rates or Docusign results.

Connecting systems supports the argument when the same opportunity can be followed through to its contract outcome. Its cost must follow the same journey: configuration, human review and send consumption. When saving one task requires another intervention, that new task belongs in the comparison.

IAM expansion needs its own denominator

Docusign reported on Sept. 3 that IAM represented 15.1% of annual recurring revenue, or ARR, on July 31, 2026, compared with 12.6% on April 30. The company defines ARR using the annualized value of active contracts and distinguishes it from revenue recognized under U.S. accounting rules. The changing share is a reported commercial development; it does not measure customer savings or return.

The distinction between adopting AI and demonstrating its economic effect also appears in the Ipsos and LinkedIn series . In March 2024, 24% of 2,001 B2B leaders surveyed in selected countries cited AI implementation as a challenge and 19% cited measuring bottom-line impact. They form no trend with the 2025 study and do not describe IAM buyers.

IAM expands Docusign's sale by placing the supplier in more of the work around an agreement. That commercial expansion becomes clearer when entitlements are counted in the units actually consumed. Unlimited signatures address part of the purchase; the process earns its economic value through the work it avoids, the contract it helps complete and the cost of each route used.
