Adsmurai has added GEO Tracker to its AMP platform to observe how brands and competitors appear in artificial-intelligence responses, with access to mentions, sources and complete answers.

The tool introduces an observation surface that marketing needs to interpret carefully. Appearing in a response may help a brand's discovery, but can also describe it incorrectly, cite an outdated page or resolve a question without generating a visit. Measuring presence and measuring commercial growth are connected tasks requiring different evidence, rather than two names for the same dashboard result.

The product update announces visibility indicators and comparison with competitors. Adsmurai places its origin in Barcelona in 2014; its legal identity is ADSMURAI S.L., B66216482. The announcement supplies no sales series attributable to GEO Tracker or experiment quantifying the business effect of improving one of its reported indicators.

The observed question defines the commercial opportunity

An answer about choosing a product may appear before someone knows brands or prices. A question asking for suppliers with a particular capability may sit closer to contracting. Brand presence in both situations does not represent the same opportunity. The observed set of questions needs to preserve that difference before its responses are compressed into a single visibility score.

Selection should also distinguish category discovery, option comparison and verification of conditions. A brand can appear during discovery and disappear when someone asks about compatibility or availability. That pattern would suggest a different task from an overall average: examining whether decision-relevant information exists, is understandable and can be verified. A broad presence score cannot explain those separate customer information needs.

Mobile image search25.4%

According to GWI and DataReportal, reported by Statista, 87.4% used a search engine and 30.5% ChatGPT each month. The data here do not establish how much usage concerned products or how many people used both. For GEO Tracker, the figures place the new surface alongside others: a mention can form part of discovery without replacing the whole journey or equaling a visit.

What research shows about answers and clicks

For historical context, Pew Research Center observed in the United States that traditional links received clicks in 8% of visits with an AI summary and 15% without one . Its analysis used March 2025 browsing from 900 adults and 68,879 unique searches, reproducing queries April 7-17. Clicks on sources within summaries occurred in 1% of visits with summaries.

These are observations from another market and period, not Adsmurai results or a forecast of traffic losses for Spanish businesses. The design does not randomly assign summaries to equivalent queries. Different questions can receive different results and produce different behaviour, so the association does not itself measure the causal effect of adding an AI answer to a search experience.

A mention and a citation describe different events

A brand can appear by name without a link to its website. A cited source can appear without a recommendation of its offer. A reference can also be critical or part of a comparison favouring another option. Counting every occurrence as a positive recommendation would create a commercial measure different from what the answer actually says about the business.

Adsmurai's announced access to full answers can help review that context. A proposed analysis would separate named presence, source citation and description of the offer while preserving observed text. The record would show whether an indicator movement reflects more useful opportunities or merely more name appearances in situations offering little commercial benefit. An aggregate count cannot settle that distinction without examining the responses behind it.

The source used in an answer matters too. An external page may explain a condition that the company's own website presents poorly. If it contains old information, the answer may create expectations the business no longer meets. Correcting documentation has value even without an immediate rise in mentions, because it helps someone receive a verifiable account of the current offer.

A score depends on the selected questions

A visibility measure needs to explain which responses enter its denominator. Without that information, identical percentages can describe very different commercial situations. Broad category questions and supplier comparisons do not represent the same coverage. The announcement names AI Visibility Score and Share of Voice but does not provide a complete formula here that would allow an independent reconstruction of the measures.

A team following trends should maintain a stable set of questions. Changing it during comparison can move the score without improving answers to earlier queries. Expanding coverage may be useful, but it should be recorded as an observation change rather than automatically credited to work performed on the brand. The measurement design determines what a historical comparison is capable of showing.

Language, market, model and query time should also be retained. A business serving Spain does not receive the same diagnosis from an answer in another language or a question assuming another country's conditions. The proposed assessment should correspond to the journey being investigated, without treating an international response as proof of local availability, prices or suitability for Spanish customers.

The announcement names ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overview. That list combines different surfaces within one brand observation. Adding their occurrences cannot identify distinct people or uniform exposure: an assistant's answer and an answer integrated into search appear in different contexts. Retaining which surface produced a mention allows the team to examine its information and particular opportunity rather than lose that distinction inside a global figure that appears more comparable than the underlying observations actually are.

Repeated observations can reveal variability. If answers change for the same question, one result does not demonstrate stable positioning. Keeping observations and stating their number would help interpret variation. The product document provides no outcome distribution allowing uncertainty intervals or a customer stability percentage to be calculated here. The absence of those details should remain part of interpreting any single score.

Competitor comparison needs genuinely comparable offers

A competitor list can contain businesses with different products, prices or markets. Greater presence for one does not necessarily mean a commercial loss for the observed brand. Before interpreting share of voice, the team should explain which alternatives address the same need. This business definition is a preceding task rather than an automatic consequence of assembling company names in a monitoring dashboard.

Turning an observation into a verifiable intervention

A proposed review can begin with responses misdescribing a checkable condition: a discontinued product, an omitted restriction or an unclear compatibility explanation. The intervention would update authorised information and identify where it is published. That work has a verifiable quality criterion even if commercial impact requires further observation. It connects monitoring to a specific problem rather than assuming every mention count needs to rise.

The expected change should then be defined. A corrected description, reference to a current source and clearer explanation of limitations are different outcomes. Choosing one permits checking whether the intervention resolved the observed issue. Declaring success through any increase in mentions can conceal continuing inaccuracies or a different observation population from the one that originally revealed the problem.

Intervention should respect the source's meaning. Repeating promotional claims on more pages can increase available text without adding evidence. Useful documentation explains the offer, whom it suits and conditions limiting its use. Monitoring can identify gaps but cannot create the facts needed to resolve them. A company still needs substantiated information before pursuing better representation of that information in generated answers.

Preparing for AI search involves different content and resource choices (%)

Structured data33%

Funnel and Ravn, reported by Statista, recorded adapted content at 52% and training or resources at 44% in the in-house subgroup. This describes preparations rather than what improves rankings. The distinction turns GEO Tracker diagnosis into a cost decision: correcting a published condition, reviewing a source and observing stable questions are different tasks from paying to track more mentions.

Connecting visibility and business without fictional attribution

An identifiable visit from an AI source can be observed under available analytics rules, but it does not represent everyone exposed to answers. An absent recorded visit does not prove absence of influence either. Evaluation should state which parts of the journey can be measured and avoid completing the rest with sales imputed from mentions. Observability limits need explanation rather than invented monetary estimates.

Cost needs a separate account. Monitoring, editorial review and source maintenance consume resources. The product case supplies no quantified labour saving or customer return establishing that value. Expansion decisions should connect effort with resolved problems and observed outcomes rather than indefinitely funding a score without defined economic meaning. Some information corrections may be worthwhile before their financial effect can be measured, but that remains a different justification.

For a Spanish brand, the useful question is whether an answer accurately explains its offer and supports a relevant decision. GEO Tracker can supply material for investigating that question. Commercial evidence requires maintaining the observed population, examining the information behind the answer and following outcomes with first-party evidence, without defining a mention as a sale simply because both appear in a marketing report.
