[Geotelecom](https://elacelerador.es/en/company/geotelecom/) has published four automation cases that locate an ecommerce business's growth opportunities inside its own store: the recommendation that extends a purchase, the registration that starts a relationship, the anonymous basket that produces a contact and the unavailable product that retains a customer's interest. The Burgos agency's analysis, published on August 19, 2026, provides figures for each journey and shows which signals it uses to trigger communications.

For cross-selling, the agency reports more than €152,000 in attributed revenue and 656 purchases. For back-in-stock notifications, it reports more than €220,000 and 161 purchases. The other two projects capture contacts through a subscription bar adapted to the visitor and a message shown before somebody leaves their basket. These are four separate examples, each with a specific commercial task: extend, identify, recover or reactivate.

Nacho Herrero, a marketing automation professional at Geotelecom, wrote the original analysis. Its interest lies in how the interventions work as well as the reported results: what the store knows at each moment, which message it displays and which action allows the relationship to continue. The agency's current offering includes tools such as [Connectif](https://elacelerador.es/en/company/connectif/) and [Klaviyo](https://elacelerador.es/en/company/klaviyo/) , alongside consulting, segmentation and lifecycle automation. The cases show the commercial decisions that work is intended to organise.

## A recommendation arrives when product interest already exists

The first project starts with a familiar behaviour: somebody visits to buy one item and completes the order without discovering complementary products. Geotelecom describes using that existing interest to offer automatic recommendations of items other customers commonly purchase together. A product interaction supplies the immediate context, while purchasing behaviour provides the information behind the recommendation.

The commercial distinction from a static selection of popular items is straightforward. A product can sell well without having much to do with what that visitor is considering. The recommendation described in the case uses combinations of purchased products to bring a complementary option into the moment when the customer is already considering their basket. The store gains another opportunity to present its catalogue within a visit that has already happened.

The agency reports more than 29,000 clicks on these recommendations, 656 purchases and an average order value of €233, alongside more than €152,000 in attributed revenue. Clicks describe interaction with the suggestion; purchases and order value describe the commercial activity the agency associates with the system. Reading them together makes it possible to follow the sequence rather than compress the entire intervention into one revenue figure.

The average order value gives the case a commercial scale. The recommendation is presented as an intervention associated with orders of a particular value, rather than simply movement around a website. Geotelecom's stated objective is to increase the value of a purchase without acquiring another visit. That puts catalogue personalisation into the same commercial discussion as acquisition costs, although the intervention takes place after the visitor has arrived.

## A subscription bar with three different behaviours

The second project uses a distinction simpler than a complete customer profile: whether the visitor is subscribed and whether they have purchased. From those two conditions, Geotelecom describes three behaviours for a floating subscription bar. An unsubscribed visitor receives an invitation to register in exchange for a first-purchase discount. A subscriber who has not yet bought receives a reminder of that incentive. Somebody who is already subscribed and has purchased does not see the message.

The third option is a design decision as relevant as the other two. An existing buyer does not need a persistent invitation to make a first purchase. Removing the bar in that state prevents the same creative from pursuing every visitor with an offer based on the wrong situation. Personalisation here also means deciding when to leave room for ordinary browsing.

After registering, the visitor automatically receives a welcome coupon by email and enters the automation flows. The bar performs the first part of the task on the website; email allows the relationship to continue beyond that session. The message and subsequent communication are connected by a change in the visitor's state, from browsing without a subscription to receiving an offer directed at a first purchase.

Geotelecom says the strategy analysed more than 231,000 visits and generated more than 2,100 new subscribers. The welcome email achieved a 60% open rate. The agency attributes more than €31,500 and 74 purchases to the flow. Those figures concern different stages of the same activation: the visits considered by the strategy, registration, opening a message and a subsequent purchase.

The visit and subscriber counts are published as amounts exceeding the stated figures. The case is therefore better understood by following the reported observations than by turning those thresholds into an exact registration rate. Its practical contribution is the treatment of three visitor states and the continuity between the promised coupon, the welcome message and the first transaction.

## An anonymous basket needs an opportunity for contact

The third case addresses a specific limit in basket recovery: a store does not always know who has added products. If somebody leaves without identifying themselves, there is no email address to receive a reminder. Geotelecom intervenes before departure, through a basket-related message displayed when an anonymous visitor with products shows signs of leaving.

The proposition combines two actions. The visitor can provide an email address and then receive a recovery message containing the items they selected. The prompt does not replace the basket or ask the person to rebuild their selection from the beginning. It uses the interest expressed during browsing to continue the contact. An email address makes a second interaction possible when the visit is about to end.

The agency records 7,560 appearances of the prompt and 442 new contacts. The recovery email has a reported 58% open rate, while the case reports 160 completed purchases and more than €45,000 in recovered revenue. The journey consequently includes contact acquisition and commercial recovery within the same strategy. Each indicator describes a particular part of that work.

The 442 contacts help explain why the intervention also belongs to acquisition. The store is not sending a reminder to its entire existing customer base. It is turning an anonymous session containing selected products into a relationship that can continue by email. The visitor has expressed a more specific intention than somebody who has merely viewed a general catalogue page.

The trigger is important to the design. The case combines anonymity, products in a basket and signs of departure. It does not describe showing the same prompt indiscriminately when anybody enters the website. The intervention concentrates on an identifiable commercial situation and uses the basket's contents to maintain that context rather than begin an unrelated conversation.

## Two different ways of acquiring a contact

The subscription bar and departure prompt both acquire email addresses, but they start from different situations. The first proposes a benefit for a first purchase and distinguishes somebody who has not subscribed from somebody who already has access to that incentive. The second captures a specific selection of items an anonymous visitor has placed in a basket. In one journey, the content continuing the relationship is a welcome coupon. In the other, it is the products selected during the session.

The departure prompt's counts allow an additional reading: 442 contacts against 7,560 appearances equal approximately 5.85 contacts for every hundred times it was displayed. This is an editorial calculation using the published counts. Its denominator is appearances of the prompt, so it describes output per display rather than the probability that a particular person buys. The measure connects a decision to display an intervention with a response the store can use afterwards, while keeping the unit of observation explicit.

The difference between those two journeys affects the email's content. A welcome message needs to fulfil the promise that motivated registration. A recovery message maintains continuity with a purchase already started. Geotelecom presents both actions as automation, but their recipients do not arrive with the same context. Obtaining an email address consequently does not, by itself, decide which communication should follow. The visitor's earlier action provides the subject and purpose of the message, whether that means using an introductory coupon or returning to an existing selection.

That is a useful commercial distinction within the four-case account. The store can acquire a contact from somebody exploring a first purchase or from somebody who has already assembled a basket. Both contacts extend the relationship beyond the current visit, while retaining different reasons for returning. The cases organise those reasons into separate flows rather than treating every new address as an identical subscriber.

## An unavailable product retains a commercial question

The fourth strategy begins on a product page that cannot complete the sale at that moment. The item is out of stock, but the visitor may still want it. Geotelecom describes a two-stage process: offer an availability notification, then check stock so a personalised email can be sent when the item returns. Replenishment becomes the trigger for a communication.

The catalogue consequently does more than display current availability. The product page preserves a specific preference for a future interaction. The interest remains associated with an item, and the later message has an obvious purpose for its recipient: the product they asked about can be bought again. The connection between request and response is incorporated into the journey itself.

The agency reports more than €220,000 generated, 161 purchases completed after the notification, a 72% open rate and a 28% click rate. It presents these responses as the behaviour of contacts who have already expressed purchase intent. In that setting, the communication is not attempting to discover a new category of interest. It is recovering demand that unavailable stock had left unresolved.

The contrast with cross-selling shows two different uses of the same catalogue. In the first case, the store suggests a complement based on an interaction or purchasing combination. In the second, it waits for an operational condition to change for an item the visitor has already requested. The commercial trigger determines both the message's content and when it is sent.

## Four journeys and four uses of information

The cases distinguish the information each action needs. Recommendations rely on relationships between products and purchases. The bar uses subscription and purchasing status. The departure prompt combines an anonymous session with a basket. Replenishment links a contact to a product and its availability. Their collective usefulness can be understood without treating them as one campaign or assigning all the observations to one retailer.

The point of intervention changes as well. Recommendations and the subscription bar act during browsing. The departure prompt occupies the moment when the session is about to end. A back-in-stock email depends on a later change in availability. That distribution explains why automating a store involves coordinating the experience on the website with communications that arrive afterwards.

The reported purchases have different magnitudes: 656, 74, 160 and 161\. They come from separate projects and describe each experience, rather than rank the four strategies as though they were competing in the same experiment. The August publication brings the cases together; it does not turn their results into one reporting period for Spanish ecommerce sales. The useful comparison concerns the problem each journey addresses.

Open rates offer another perspective. Geotelecom reports 60% for the welcome message, 58% for basket recovery and 72% for replenishment. The messages reach people in different commercial situations: having just subscribed, leaving a basket or requesting an unavailable item. That context gives the figure meaning without treating an opening as a purchase or as a measure of loyalty in its own right.

## The agency connects individual flows with the business

In its current service offering, Geotelecom places automation within a process covering strategy, opportunity audits, segmentation, personalisation, acquisition and the customer lifecycle. It names Connectif and Klaviyo as tools it works with. The commercial page identifies four situations it addresses: ecommerce businesses with traffic, databases that are not being used effectively, advertising investment and companies that already have a tool but want greater impact.

That presentation helps explain the relationship between automation and paid acquisition. A visit generated by advertising can end in a purchase, a registration or a stock enquiry. The journeys described in the cases make use of those subsequent responses. The agency proposes increasing the commercial value of the visitor relationship alongside the acquisition of new sessions, and presents CRM segmentation as part of that work.

The named tools belong to the current general offering, while the four-case publication describes its actions and figures. What is concrete in these experiences is the logic applied: messages change with the user's status, products are selected for their relationship with a purchase and communications are triggered by a basket or a replenishment. Those decisions turn a database and a catalogue into several distinct commercial journeys.

Continuity between those elements provides the thread of the story. A welcome discount makes sense when it is connected with the registration that promises it. An availability message depends on the store linking the request to the right product. Basket recovery preserves the items already selected. All four projects put information into an action that a buyer can recognise and use, rather than leave it as a disconnected observation in a reporting tool.

## Who's who and how to read the figures

Geotelecom is the Spanish agency reporting this work. Its owner is Geotelecom, S.L., registered in Burgos, and Nacho Herrero wrote the original analysis. The four retailers are unnamed in the cases. Each experience retains its own journey and figures here. Connectif and Klaviyo are the platforms named in the agency's current automation offering.

Cross-selling suggests complementary products; a welcome flow links a subscription with a first purchase; basket recovery continues an existing selection; and a stock notification responds to a pending request. Monetary amounts are presented as attributed or generated revenue, according to the case. Openings, clicks, contacts and purchases keep their separate meanings, allowing the reader to follow how the commercial relationship changes at each stage.
