[Metricool](https://elacelerador.es/en/organization/metricool-organization-e05e9956/) expanded personal LinkedIn profile analytics to include all posts and interactions, including content published outside the tool, according to its June update published July 2, 2026.

## Which activity enters the report

Previously, the report included only data from posts published through Metricool. The change also covers posts published directly on LinkedIn. The company adds comment management from Inbox and says LinkedIn account connections require Starter or above.

Edelman/LinkedIn: US online survey, March 17–April 3, 2025, total N 1,934\. The question on p. 22 concerns hidden final RFP decision-makers, with subgroup N unpublished. Top two levels: very or moderately important. Vendor selection is assessed, not post quality, purchase rates or Metricool-profile outcomes; this is not a Spanish sample.

__Buyers value knowledge that reaction counts do not describe (%)__
| Category | Rates it important |
| -------------------------- | ------------------ |
| Understands business needs | 85% |
| Knowledge or expertise | 74% |
| Strategic fit | 68% |
| Safe choice | 41% |

Edelman and LinkedIn, reported by Statista, record understanding business needs at 85% and relevant expertise at 74% among important vendor-selection criteria. The study does not evaluate Metricool posts. As purchasing context, it helps frame the requirement a technical post should explain; profile reactions do not establish that the explanation influenced a decision.

When reviewing the series, note when it begins to include posts published outside Metricool. That expansion can change totals and post rankings without any change in the performance of earlier posts.

The data behind the story

### Network usage does not define a profile’s customers

GWI/DataReportal: online panel; sample size is not detailed in Statista. Categories overlap rather than forming exclusive shares. Usage is measured, not advertising reach, buying authority, profile followers or Metricool adoption.

__Network usage does not define a profile’s customers (%)__
| Category | Internet users using network |
| ----------- | ---------------------------- |
| Instagram | 73.5% |
| X (Twitter) | 36.4% |
| LinkedIn | 28.1% |

LinkedIn records 28.1% monthly use in that population, according to GWI and DataReportal via Statista. The figure is not a professional’s addressable market. Metricool’s expansion recovers posts within a particular account; national data locate the network, while relevant questions and opportunities still need observation within that profile’s relationships.

## A scheduled calendar and a professional voice serve different needs

The economic stake includes the professional's time. Preparing a technical explanation, responding to questions and carrying a conversation into a useful next step all take effort. A calendar total captures only part of that work. The fuller post set helps locate what the profile published, but the business still needs to relate the activity to the task it performs. A highly discussed opinion may establish recognition; a quieter explanation may help a prospective buyer articulate a requirement. A single popularity ranking does not resolve which effort deserves repeating.

This difference also affects review. A post that explains an individual judgement should remain recognisable as that person's reasoning. Product conditions and commitments still need accurate sources. An approval process that rewrites every explanation into generic corporate copy can remove the very detail that gives the profile credibility. The business can separate factual checking from voice editing, preserving the professional's actual contribution while ensuring that the communication does not invent a promise or misstate what the company can provide.

## The historical boundary belongs beside the result

Publication age and campaign context still belong in the comparison. An old direct post can carry accumulated distribution that a new scheduled item has not had time to receive. A paid or externally amplified item can have opportunities that another lacked. Broader coverage removes one selection rule; it does not make every included post an equivalent observation. A defensible report can use comparable windows and keep those circumstances visible, then describe a pattern without pretending that the update created a controlled experiment.

## Read the conversation as evidence of the work being recognised

The newly announced comment handling through Inbox connects reporting with response work. That is operationally relevant: a visible question left unanswered can break the continuity established by a useful post. The team needs an owner capable of recognising the question and deciding whether to reply publicly, provide a resource or continue through a private request. A faster interface is only valuable if the response retains context. Sending a standard sales invitation to every commenter would lose the distinction that made the professional exchange useful.

Some conversations should remain outside a sales process. A request to clarify reasoning, a professional disagreement or a comment from an existing customer does not automatically express interest in purchasing. The company can use those exchanges to improve an explanation or understand a recurring uncertainty. Where a person asks for commercial help, the hand-off can preserve their stated requirement and the originating post, with permission. The key distinction is deliberate customer information versus intent inferred from a public interaction that never supplied it.

## The destination needs to preserve the specialist question

A professional explanation can lead naturally to a relevant resource. If a post concerns a specific operational problem, the next page should provide the information that helps investigate it. A general company homepage may force the reader to reconstruct the subject. The profile's work is wasted when the continuation replaces a precise question with broad promotional language. Marketing can maintain a route that carries the terminology and qualifications forward, making the next conversation more informed without requiring every post to end in a direct request for a meeting.

Not all influence will be directly linked. Someone may read an explanation, remember the professional and contact the company later by another route. The lack of a tagged click does not eliminate that possible contribution; a later enquiry does not prove which post caused it. The business can preserve documented connections and state where the path is unobserved. This protects the professional channel from both extremes: declaring it worthless because attribution is incomplete and assigning every later contract to a public conversation that cannot be traced.

## Evaluate the time that makes the profile credible

The cost includes access to expertise. A colleague may need to supply facts, a specialist may review a technical detail and the profile owner may answer follow-up questions. These inputs can be scarce even when posting itself is quick. A business deciding how much professional content to produce should connect those costs to the questions it wants the profile to resolve. Counting uploads alone would reward throughput while concealing the work that makes an explanation credible and maintains the relationship after the reader responds.

Specialist content can also remain useful beyond its launch. A carefully explained comparison may help several later conversations, while a topical opinion can lose relevance quickly. A fuller post inventory supports distinguishing those roles. The team can retain accurate explanations, update changeable product facts and avoid repeatedly producing near-identical posts because only the new scheduled items were visible in the old report. The economic benefit to examine is the reuse of credible information, not a productivity saving established by the announcement.

The newly visible direct post should change the question before it changes the production quota. It may show professional work the old report never included, rather than prove that the scheduled strategy deteriorated. Metricool's coverage expansion makes that distinction inspectable. The investment decision then follows the specific explanation, the questions it opens and the specialist time required to continue them. A more complete profile record is commercially useful when it protects that judgement from publishing-route selection, not when its larger total is presented as new audience activity that never occurred.
