Viva! has documented its rebuild of [Muñecas Antonio Juan](https://elacelerador.es/en/organization/munecas-antonio-juan/) 's ecommerce, delivered between March and June 2026 on WordPress and WooCommerce, with Spanish and English content.

The company began in Onil in 1958\. Its Spanish craft manufacturing and presence in more than 40 countries explain the commercial relevance of a multilingual store: the same product must make sense to buyers in different markets.

## Organize the attributes selection requires

The case reports 44 pages published in both languages and a summer-catalogue addition of 150 products across seven categories. It also describes converting more than 700 images to WebP. These counts describe different parts of delivered work, rather than a sales increase.

Ambiguity has a particular cost when somebody is buying a gift. The buyer may know the recipient without understanding the catalogue. The store must turn that intention into a manageable selection. Architecture therefore deserves attention alongside appearance: it determines which alternatives are shown together and which differences a visitor can compare.

The intent to give a present can precede knowledge of the catalogue. In a UK YouGov survey in November 2024, 54% of parents cited a child’s Christmas list as a source of ideas, compared with 39% mentioning toy shops. This does not describe Antonio Juan’s Spanish buyers. It distinguishes a known request from the subsequent task of finding a suitable product. Age, size and included accessories therefore serve a different purpose from campaign inspiration.

## Review the journey in each language

Assessing the bilingual journey should follow the same product from category through payment. A team can review whether availability, delivery terms and selection survive a language change. Translated pages do not establish that every purchasing step is handled identically.

There is also a search-content decision: each category should answer a specific intention and lead to products somebody can actually buy. More pages do not automatically produce more demand. A useful structure shortens the distance between the query that brought the visitor and the evidence needed to choose.

## Commercial results missing from the case

The agency describes a technical and content delivery. It publishes no comparison of sales or contribution per visitor. Pages, products and images are therefore presented in their own units without turning those volumes into growth evidence.

Commercial evaluation should separate new and returning buyers, mobile and desktop, languages and entry categories. More orders can coincide with a different seasonal catalogue or a change in advertising investment. Before crediting the platform, the business needs to establish what changed at each stage of the journey.

## Choosing a doll requires information the catalogue can organise

Antonio Juan's project places content architecture inside a specific purchasing decision. Someone looking for a doll may arrive through a collection, characteristic or recommended age without knowing the brand's product terminology. The commercial challenge is making those different searches lead to an understandable selection. An attractive photograph helps identify the product, but cannot replace information about what is included, how alternatives differ and suitability. The documented redesign reorganises that information. It does not publish a measurement of how the shopper's choice changed or establish that any individual attribute caused additional sales.

The agency describes separating visual design, content structure and product logic. That distinction matters to marketing because a campaign page can change its presentation without rewriting each product fact independently. Repeating information across several surfaces increases maintenance work and the risk of inconsistent versions. The case presents an organisational approach, but supplies no complete consistency audit establishing that the risk disappeared. A purchasing decision still depends on the actual information published, rather than the name of the content-management tool used to store it.

Buying for another person can involve different uncertainty from a regular purchaser's choice. The catalogue needs to help comparison without inventing the recipient's needs. Recommended age and included accessories, for example, answer different questions. Editorial analysis should keep them separate and accurately describe their source. A store can organise those signals and support selection. The existence of an attribute does not establish that a visitor understood it or that it determined the purchase. Understanding that difference makes the development case relevant without overstating what the public evidence demonstrates.

## The counts describe deliverables rather than growth

The summer catalogue's 150 products and seven categories are organisational units. The 44 pages published in Spanish and English describe content; more than 700 converted images describe media work. The source gives no breakdown allowing the pages to be converted into 44 pairs or the languages to be counted as 88 deliverables. This revision retains the count as the agency reports it, rather than calculating an expansion figure that the text does not provide or treating the delivery volume as additional customer demand.

The same caution applies to visual volume. A media library can contain originals and thumbnails for one product, together with corporate content. The image count therefore cannot establish unique photographs per doll or a percentage reduction in file weight. The publication describes WebP conversion, reference updates and thumbnail work, but supplies no before-and-after byte comparison. The count establishes the scope of a technical intervention. It does not quantify exact savings, load improvement or commercial effect, and should not become a substitute for those separate measurements.

The March-to-June 2026 implementation period is not a sales-results period either. It describes when work took place. Claiming a later uplift would require knowing when each component became public and how long comparable purchases were observed. Combining those calendars could make development appear to be a measurement. The announcement is a primary account by the implementer, who has a commercial interest in presenting the work. Its claims should retain that attribution, rather than being treated as independently verified conclusions about shopper behaviour or return on investment.

## One useful attribute can support several purchase moments

The agency lists collection, recommended age, material, size, product type, mechanism and included accessories. Those dimensions can support different needs: discovering alternatives, narrowing a selection or confirming a difference before buying. The report does not establish how much each filter is used. The proposed evaluation would observe which search or category brings the visitor to an attribute and what follows. That would help distinguish a catalogue supporting choice from a page adding options the shopper does not understand or cannot relate to the intended gift.

Consistency needs a shared definition for each dimension. If equivalent products use different characteristic names, a filter can separate items a shopper expected to compare. If one label combines different concepts, it can hide an important distinction. This is a product-data editorial issue rather than a demand for more technology. The value comes from an option meaning the same thing in a category, on a product page and in the language where it is displayed. That consistency needs maintaining when the catalogue changes, rather than being assumed from the initial migration.

What happens when a selection produces no results also matters. The absence of products could indicate no available offer, an unusual combination or an incorrect label. Those causes need different responses. Search and selection records could inform catalogue work if interpreted with stock availability. The case does not publish that analysis or establish that filters improve conversion. It identifies a journey point where content and purchasing need to be observed together. A visitor's unsuccessful selection should remain part of the evidence, rather than disappearing because no product page was opened.

The second problem occurs inside the catalogue. In December 2025, Coveo and Arlington Research surveyed 4,000 online shoppers in the United States and United Kingdom: 31% reported problems with choices or filters, and 30% with search or browsing. For Antonio Juan, that distinction identifies a concrete question: can the collection, age or accessory the buyer needs be selected through consistently defined attributes? The survey identifies reported obstacles; it does not establish that this store’s reconstruction increased sales.

## The category has its own commercial role

A category page can receive someone who has not chosen a product. Its role is to explain what the selection contains and offer useful differences without requiring every item to be opened. A campaign destination should retain the reason the visitor arrived. If creative material promises a characteristic and the selection dilutes it, more traffic does not resolve the mismatch. Reconstruction provides a surface for that relationship. The outcome still depends on the particular content and available offer published afterwards, which the delivery count cannot measure.

Structured category fields can make editing easier, but completing a field does not establish organic demand. Search interpretation needs actual queries, accessible pages and content answering them. Nor does every query require a new category. Creating several pages with distinctions difficult to explain can distribute maintenance work without adding a useful purchasing decision. This article proposes evaluating architecture through recognisable intentions. It does not assign search positions or traffic increases that the case does not document, and it does not treat a technically organised field as proof of a ranking result.

A category can also inform shoppers who ultimately buy through another channel. The physical-store locator included in the project reminds readers that a digital experience may support a different later purchase. A website cannot automatically count that as an online order. Studying the function would require a specific method and avoiding the classification of locator visits as sales. Journeys diagnose interest; commercial outcomes require recognised people and transactions with explicit attribution limits. Keeping them separate prevents the brand's broader distribution presence from becoming an invented direct-channel conversion figure.

## Language should preserve the selection, not only the template

Translating navigation and translating information that determines a purchase are different jobs. The same reference should retain understandable attributes, variants and conditions when a visitor changes language. The case documents WPML and Spanish and English content, but publishes no transaction-by-transaction review. The proposed commercial check would follow a product and its options through the purchasing stage. Having pages in two languages cannot automatically establish that the complete journey is equivalent or that a visitor finds the same offer after switching between them.

Google recommends indicating localised versions and maintaining reciprocal links between them. That documentation explains how to help search recognise language alternatives; it promises neither a position nor validation of the commercial translation. Localised-version documentation . The brand still needs to decide which terms its shoppers understand and what information belongs on a product page. Correct technical annotations can accompany that editorial decision, but cannot replace it or supply product facts missing from a translated description.

English does not define one market. Delivery conditions, payment options and availability can differ by destination despite a shared language. No evidence here establishes a specific expansion caused by the reconstruction. The brand reports presence in more than 40 countries; that contextual scale cannot establish online sales in each one. Analysis should distinguish brand presence, content language and direct-channel conditions rather than treating them as one internationalisation measure. Otherwise a description of distribution could become a claim about digital purchasing that the available source never made.

## Migrating content also changes a campaign's memory

The project includes cleaning legacy content and the catalogue. For marketing, a migration needs to preserve the meaning of destinations already circulating through advertisements, emails or external links. A new structure can improve internal organisation while breaking the relationship with an active campaign. The publication supplies neither an inventory of those links nor traffic results. The question would be how a visit to an older destination reaches a relevant alternative with identifiable product and conditions, instead of being credited as a successful migration solely because the new page loads.

Seasonal availability adds another layer. The summer 2026 catalogue may attract different demand from an earlier period. Comparing aggregate orders before and after redesign could capture the catalogue and calendar rather than the platform. Available categories and offers should remain visible during each observation. That control does not automatically make a comparison causal, but it exposes a difference that might otherwise be assigned to the reconstruction because it happened nearby in time. The reported implementation period cannot solve that identification problem without purchasing and campaign records.

Image work affects performance and product information. Reducing weight can help loading while losing detail in an accessory or characteristic can impair comparison. Editorial decisions need both perspectives. The case publishes no abandonment figure attributable to images and no sales comparison by format. Visual versions should be assessed for clarity and journey context with weight and quality recorded. WebP alone cannot guarantee higher conversion. Its use describes a technical choice, while the shopper still needs images capable of supporting the choice the product page asks them to make.

## Measure retained purchases and the team's work

The useful commercial measure depends on the agreed objective. For clearer selection, category and product visits should connect with retained orders and questions about characteristics. For content independence, time to publish or correct a reference matters. These are different outcomes and can improve at different speeds. The project publishes neither with a period comparison. This revision therefore presents them as follow-up criteria, avoiding figures the agency never reported. It also keeps failed purchases visible, rather than choosing only successful customers when interpreting the catalogue's performance.

Orders need a later reading. A purchase that is returned or creates additional support work can leave a different contribution. The brand would need to retain that outcome by language and catalogue entry, alongside acquisition expense where measurable. Looking only at payment favours a growth story that ends too early. An evaluation should explain its observation window and retain non-buying visitors in the denominator, without selecting only satisfied users. That approach can reveal whether the information supports appropriate choices rather than merely generating more initial transactions.

Maintenance deserves follow-up as well. A clearer structure can simplify changes, but attributes, translations and images still need owners. Content volume does not disappear after launch. Editing hours, errors and corrections would show whether the new foundation organises work better. Such operational evidence can justify investment even without a sales increase. The case describes a delivery; evaluating return requires a usage history and commercial account that have not been published. Treating that absence honestly is more useful to another retailer than inventing a benchmark uplift from the tool names.

Antonio Juan presents a digital reconstruction materially connected to product discovery and choice. The case's value is how a bilingual catalogue makes characteristics navigable, and what evidence would demonstrate its effect. Counts explain the project's scale without pretending it proves growth. The next meaningful account would compare retained purchases and catalogue work by language, using the same availability definition and a calendar recognising the seasonal offer. Until then, the documented architecture provides a clear subject for commercial evaluation rather than a quantified result that can be transferred to another brand.

Assessing the new store would require observing purchases and returns by language and entry category over comparable periods. Catalogue and advertising changes should also be recorded. That would help assess selection and its economic outcome beyond the volume of migrated content.
